  • Cobb Pinot Noir Wendling Vineyard 2017 -- 750ml

Cobb Pinot Noir Wendling Vineyard 2017

    • Tasting Notes

“Cobb’s 2017 Wendling Vineyard is noticeably more powerful, firm and dense than the various Sonoma Coast releases. Dark fruits and boreal aromas make up the nose, while the palate tastes of cinnamon stick, black cherry and apple core. The wine feels like a straight arrow, with firm and persistent focus right down the middle of the palate leading to a multidimensional finish. Fascinating to see a non-Sonoma Coast Cobb Pinot Noir!”
Matthew Luczy, Wine Director at Mélisse Santa Monica

    • The Vineyard

Paul Ardzrooni planted this phenomenal twenty-acre vineyard in 2009, the most Northwestern vineyard in the Anderson Valley up in Mendocino County. Planted to Pommard, 115, 667, and Massal Selection from his other famous vineyards, its close proximity to the Pacific Ocean and steep, rocky southwest facing slopes make it a unique, challenging, and exciting site that yields superb fruit.

    • Accolades

“The 2017 Pinot Noir Wendling Vineyard is a new wine from Cobb from a world-class site in Anderson Valley that will become better known as more producers make wines from it. Deep, unctuous and beautifully layered in the glass, the Wendling is breathtaking from start to finish. The 2017 is a wine of sheer sensuality. Don't miss it."
Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media January 2020 - 97 Points
